Great Donation

This week saw a wonderful donation of Scouting books dating from the early 1920s and an order of service for the thanksgiving service that was held at the 1929 World Jamboree, a near complete Companoid first aid kit. 2 Cub caps and lots of other great books. Photos to follow. These items were donated by a great supporter of the Archives and past Group Scout Leader and a life long scout.

Archive talk

Had a good afternoon giving a talk to the Womans group at Pickering Methodist Chapel. Coverd many aspects of the history of local and national Scouting and met the old Wolf Cub Leader 'Baloo' who was with the Cub Pack in the 1960s.

The Archives are now working closely with the 1st Vale of Pickering Scout Troop to produce some small decumentary type videos on Scouting. watch this space for the completed clips.
